After-effects of Celebrations
LETHARGY, THE BLUES, HEADACHES?
It’s that time of the year again! Party-time, with all the tempting, tasty goodies that lure us into consuming them without a thought of after-effects.
These after-effects, such as lethargy (lack of energy), hyperactivity (usually in the wrong age group!), feeling down (or blue), headaches and other effects can be decidedly uncomfortable for those having them and those having to put up with someone having them (arguments?).
The reason this happens is that most of the great-tasting goodies are made with lots of sugar and lots of refined flours (which turn to sugar in the body) and sugar depletes your stores of the B complex vitamins, calcium, magnesium and many other nutrients, such as your B vitamins and others.
That’s why so many people have a feeling of the “blues” or a “let down” feeling. It’s because the nutrients have been burned up rapidly and haven’t been replaced.
When your body is down from too much consumption of the “wrong” foods, your immune system will also be down and that opens the door for more unpleasant consequences, such as ‘flu or a cold – or worse. The simple solution is to do something about it immediately.
Suggestion To Help Prevent or Overcome
My advice is to top everyone up with a good multi-vitamin, the B-vitamins, calcium and magnesium (CalMag-C) to replace the lost nutrients or to supply a reserve before festivities begin. In this way, people feel better and don’t suffer any after-effects of enjoyment.
In other words, they can have their cake, eat it and compensate with the good stuff so they don’t have any let-down or negative effect.
